The BBC reports that Worthing beach is closed. That’s not quite true. As I Tweeted earlier, you can’t get down on to the sandy bit of the beach that’s exposed at low tide because of the piles of wood, but there are no restrictions or barriers where we live in West Worthing.
I took some photographs late yesterday afternoon. There’s much more wood today, and the bundles of planks have been broken up by the waves.
Update (21 January 2008): Paul Silver Tweeted some much better photographs, many from along by the pier.
